Covid-19: Answers to the Main Questions on Childhood Vaccination

Faced with the acceleration of the Covid-19 epidemic, France opened, on Wednesday December 22, vaccination to all children from 5 to 11 years old. This announcement comes after the favorable opinions, delivered on Wednesday, from the National Consultative Ethics Committee, the High Authority for Health and the Vaccine Strategy Orientation Council.

Children likely to develop severe forms of Covid-19 or living with immunocompromised people could already be vaccinated since December 15. The Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, specified that this vaccination campaign would be done on a voluntary basis, while part of the public opinion is still reluctant on the vaccination of the youngest.

We have listed below the main practical questions raised by this new expansion of the vaccine strategy.
