Covid-19: new isolation rules for patients and their contacts announced « by the weekend »

The Prime Minister clarified that the decision was linked to « characteristics of Omicron », a variant of the virus on the way to becoming the majority.

The government will « adjust » the isolation rules for people tested positive for Covid-19 and their « contact cases », the duration of which will be specified « by the end of the week, » Jean Castex said on Monday during ‘a press conference.

He also ruled out dreaded curfew measures for New Years Eve on December 31 and postponing the start of the school year scheduled for January 3.
